ABOUT CASEY

Originally from a small town in Oregon, I got my start in the arts at Northeastern University where I earned my BA in English with minors in Art History and Philosophy. After college, I deepened my admin. expertise and fell in love with the creative sector while working closely with the director of a grassroots arts advocacy nonprofit and serving as the manager of exhibitions at two local nonprofit galleries.

I wanted to deepen my understanding of the cultural sector and add more tools to my admin. arsenal, so I returned home to Oregon in 2018 to earn an MA in Art History and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management at the University of Oregon. I finished my degree just as the COVID-19 pandemic set in, and as I looked for work, I heard constantly that arts organizations and nonprofits were unable to grow their teams as planned and many who had kept their jobs in the creative sector were completely overwhelmed.

Casey Can was born when I decided the best way to contribute to the field I love was to offer my support for a flat hourly fee and give artists, academics, and nonprofits the option to shorten their to-do list without the costs and long term commitments of bringing on an employee. I’m truly honored to work with incredible creatives from all over the world.
